pregnancy yoga

The intention of pregnancy yoga is to offer a little piece of sanctuary to you during your pregnancy. A welcoming and supportive space where you can cultivate strength, awareness and emotional well-being, so you can embrace the changes during pregnancy, feel empowered and prepare for childbirth and motherhood, both physically and mentally.

As a yoga teacher I am extremely passionate about the holistic mind and body benefits yoga can bring to support women through birth and after. I believe yoga is for everyone and is a great support to help mums de-stress, connect with others, share our journeys and become part of a community. Pregnancy Yoga classes are a great way to nourish our bodies and physically and emotionally improve our health and wellbeing.

My weekly pregnancy yoga classes are friendly, suitable for all trimesters and are a lovely way to meet other mums and support each other through your journeys.

When to Practise

These classes are suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy and no previous yoga experience is necessary. Classes run weekly and bookings are taken as 6 week blocks, single classes may sometimes become available. There is no fixed start date, so you can attend at any time and have support throughout your pregnancy.

What to expect

In each class we will move through different yoga poses and explore breathwork and relaxation tools to relax and calm the mind.

  • Breathing and visualisation techniques to assist in birth preparation and deep relaxation to enhance general health and well-being for mum and baby

  • Yoga and breathwork techniques to support common symptoms of pregnancy such as - heartburn, leg cramps, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, pelvic girdle pain (PGP), separation of the abdominal muscles

  • Classic yoga postures are adapted to build body awareness, strength, flexibility and stability to help support the physical changes of pregnancy and prepare for birth

  • Discussion of birthing options, labour stages, and learning more about how the body works during pregnancy and birth

  • Informal discussion and the opportunity to chat and share your experiences with the other mums in the class in a supportive and safe environment
